A hand car wash is seeking permission to set up at the well-known Kirks Korner in Scunthorpe - off Scotter Road - creating four full-time jobs.
If given the go-ahead by North Lincolnshire Council planners, it will operate at the petrol station.
An application has been lodged by Scunthorpe man Bobbi Dosanj.
Proposed opening hours are 9am to 6pm, seven days a week.
Kirks Korner was operated by Councillor Paul Kirk for many years until being sold.
