MEMBERS of the Scunthorpe branch of Cancer Research UK are celebrating after raising half a million pounds for the charity.The branch was set up in the late 1960s and recently broke through the £500,000 mark through its fundraising.To celebrate the milestone, the group was invited to tour part of the cancer unit at St James Hospital in Leeds this month.A plaque was placed within the unit, which was funded by Cancer Research UK, to recognise the group's commitment to raising money for more...
