SCUNTHORPE General Hospital's accident and emergency unit has hit targets for treating patients within four hours for the first time this year.Figures revealed to the Scunthorpe Telegraph show that 95.5 per cent of patients in May were treated in under four hours – just above the 95 per cent Government target.The news comes at a time when A&E units across the country are failing to hit the target – with demand rising amid pressures on funding and staffing levels.Denise Smith,...
