PARENTS and their children have been urged to be aware of the dangers of open water.
North Lincolnshire Council and Humberside Fire and Rescue Service have issued a warning ahead of the school summer holidays.
Figures provided by the council show there were 407 water-related deaths across the Yorkshire and Humber area in 2011.
Of these, 219 related to inland water, such as rivers and lakes.
