A STEELWORKER died as a result of exposure to asbestos, an inquest heard.Michael King, 63, of Gainsborough Lane, Scawby, died of malignant mesothelioma, a cancer of the lining of the lungs, on May 19.An inquest at the Civic Centre in Scunthorpe heard Mr King started work at the Scunthorpe steel works in 1965, where he worked as a pipe worker.In a statement from Mr King written before his death, he said he was exposed to asbestos while repairing small leaks and putting in new lines of pipe.The...
