STRUGGLING accident and emergency departments in the UK are to be given £500 million of funding over the next two years to ensure waiting times are kept under control.
It is not yet known if Scunthorpe General Hospital, which was put in special measures in July, following a report into higher than expected death rates by Sir Bruce Keogh, will benefit from this money.
