SCUNTHORPE MP Nic Dakin has spoken in the House of Commons about the so-called "bedroom tax", calling for its abolition during a debate.
A Labour party motion calling for its abolition was defeated by 252 to 226.
The spare-room subsidy, or "bedroom tax", cuts housing benefit for social housing tenants - by 14 per cent for those deemed to have an extra bedroom, and 25 per cent for claimants with two or more spare bedrooms.
