THE late-night shopping season will begin in Scunthorpe tonight (Thursday, November 21) as the countdown to Christmas gets under way.
The town's Christmas lights will be switched on at 6.30pm as the culmination of an event set to begin at 5pm in Church Square.
Shops in the town centre will be open until 8pm, which will be repeated every Thursday until Christmas in a bid to give traders a festive boost.
