North Lincolnshire Council has made it clear that action WILL be taken where cases of benefit fraud are reported.
The authority issued a statement after Helen Lansley, 55, of Warley Road, Scunthorpe, pleaded guilty to two counts of benefit fraud, claiming around £54,000 in housing benefit, income support and council tax benefit "at least 50 per cent" being false, Grimsby Crown Court heard.
She was sentenced to 18 weeks in prison.
