Before Jason Mace, 20, of West Common Crescent, Scunthorpe, was sentenced for robbing and beating his own grandmother, a victim impact statement from her was read out in court.
In the statement, Betty Mace, who suffered a bleed on the brain, a fractured cheekbone and multiple bruises, said: "I have lived at my
address on my own for a number of years since my husband Arthur passed away.
"I never thought I would be able to live on my own but I had begun to cope and felt happy in my own home...
