Van owners are urged to be vigilant after five incidents of them being targeted in 24 hours by thieves. In each incident - between Tuesday, August 27 and today - the offenders have approached the unattended vans and gained entry before removing the exhaust system/catalytic converters. The incidents occurred on Kings Court, Normanby Road, Kenilworth Road, Sheffield Street East and Frodingham Road in Scunthorpe. A planning application has been submitted to North Lincolnshire Council by property developer David Brown to build the properties on the site of the demolished Poacher pub on Marsden Drive, Scunthorpe. The 45-year-old pub, which was demolished in July this year, was bought last year from Enterprise Inns by the West Stockwith-based firm of Merryvale Developments.
