FIREFIGHTERS were called this morning to pump flood water from a house in New Holland. The village was hit by flooding after the River Humber burst its banks on Thursday night, along with numerous other villages in North Lincolnshire. Humberside Fire and Rescue service pumped water into a nearby dyke from the house, on Marsh Lane in the village. A light portable pump and two main lines were used to remove the water. A well-known store in Scunthorpe will be shutting for good this weekend. It is another well-known brand that will no longer be gracing the High Street. Reasons have been given for the closure in a statement. The Blockbuster store in Ashby will shut its doors tomorrow (Sunday, Decdember 8) after the last day of trading.
