FIRE crews used a saw to get into a Scunthorpe flat after an oven was left on inside. The incident happened today (Sunday) at about 5.20pm on Grosvenor Street North. A person was locked out of the flat with the oven left on inside and Humberside fire and rescue gained access to the property via a window using a reciprocating saw.

Visitors to a wedding fayre in Scunthorpe tomorrow (Tuesday October 14) will "be dazzled," the organisers suggest. The event is looking to offer "great ideas for your special day." The venue is Heslam Park Club - the home of Scunthorpe Rugby Union Club and Scunthorpe Town Cricket Club - on Ashby Road. The fayre runs from 5.30pm to 7.30pm, and further details can be obtained by calling 01724 843013.
