The following offender was dealt with at the Court Centre in Laneham Street, Scunthorpe, with North Lincolnshire magistrates hearing the matter and passing sentence: ANDREW CHARLES LONGCAKE, 51, of Ashby Road, Scunthorpe, pleaded guilty to two offences of assault by beating. He was given a 12-month community order with a four-month curfew requirement. He was also given a restraining order, ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £60 and costs of £250.

FIREFIGHTERS were called out to two incidents in North Lincolnshire yesterday afternoon (Sunday, March 29). A crew from Humberside Fire and Rescue Service was summoned to Cottage Beck Road in Scunthorpe shortly before 2pm. Crew members dealt with the skip fire using a hose reel. Firefighters were also required to attend a chimney fire at Goxhill Tilery.
