The number of patients being seen within four hours at Scunthorpe hospital trust A&E departments has improved.The latest figures released show that 83.3 per cent of patients were seen within four hours at Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust, which runs hospitals in Scunthorpe, Grimsby and Goole, although Goole does not have an A&E.Although the figure, for January 5-11, is an improvement from the previous figure of 77.9 per cent for December 29 to January 4, it is...

The go-ahead has been given to create new wildlife ponds in North Lincolnshire. Up to three ponds, covering 1,460 sq metres, can be created under the terms of newly granted planning permission. They will have dipping platforms and are to be accompanied by a rustic outdoor classroom. The location is land to the south of Baldwin Avenue, Bottesford. North Lincolnshire Council planners have given consent to the scheme.

POLICE have been called after a three-vehicle accident left a road blocked. The incident was reported to Humberside Police at around 4.45pm. It happened on College Road, which runs between Barrow-Upon-Humber and East Halton. In a message on social network Twitter, Humberside Police Sergeant James Main said the collision happened around 1.5 miles from Barrow and police units were on their way to the scene. Police, firefighters and the ambulance service were called to the bridge after a person was spotted on the wrong side of the railings. The Humber Rescue lifeboat organisation was also called.
