The operators of The Light bar in Scunthorpe will go to court next week to appeal against a ruling to not allow the Doncaster Road venue to open from 9am until 6am. Last year, North Lincolnshire Council told the Grimsby Pub Company that a 6am opening in the town centre could lead to crime and disorder. A Scunthorpe man John Farrell has been banned from driving for 12 months after admitting drink-driving on December 27.Prosecuting at North Lincolnshire Magistrates' Court in the town, Deborah Gibson said John Farrell, 46, of Ormsby Road, was stopped by police on Manby Road after leaving the Pied Piper pub in his car.Breathalyser tests revealed he had 53mcg alcohol per 100ml breath.
