FIREFIGHTERS were called out to a fire in the bedroom of a ground floor flat. Humberside Fire and Rescue Service were called out to the incident on Cherry Grove, Collum Avenue in Scunthorpe shortly before 11.50am yesterday (Wednesday, April 1). The Fire Service said the fire involved bedding and curtains inside the bedroom of a ground floor flat. There was fire damage to the bedroom and smoke damage to the remainder of the flat. Father-of-two Geoff and his wife Beryl ran the pub in Earl Street for 12 years until June 2004.
