MOTORISTS face further delays after roadworks on a major road through Scunthorpe were extended. A project to resurface a section of the A18 Queensway had been due to run for seven nights from Monday, November 11. The stretch between the Ashby Ville roundabout and the junction with Grange Lane has been closed each night from 7pm to 7am. A council has decided to suspend some of its bin collections from households. The change is aimed at saving a considerable amount of money and will operate for FOUR MONTHS. Garden waste collections will be suspended from Monday, December 2 until Tuesday, April 1 in the West Lindsey area. The move is expected to save West Lindsey District Council around £74,000. Garden waste can be taken to household recycling centres during the shutdown.

Police have today issued a condition udpate on a 15-year-old girl injured after being hit by a car in Barton. Last Wednesday (November 13), the girl suffered life-threatening injuries after the incident on Dam Road in Barton at around 10.50pm. The girl was walking with Koen Allwood who died from his injuries. Police today said the girl, who is being treated in Hull Royal Infirmary, is recovering from her injuries.
