Drink-driver banned from road by Scunthorpe court
A North Lincolnshire motorist, who was over the drink-drive limit, was banned from the road when his case came before magistrates sitting at the Court Centre in Scunthorpe.
LUKE HUTCHINSON, 22, of Scawby Road, Broughton, pleaded guilty to drink-driving. He was disqualified from driving for 12 months, fined £425, ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £43 and £85 costs.

Making false drug prescriptions: Scunthorpe man in court
The following offender was dealt with at the Court Centre in Laneham Street, Scunthorpe, with North Lincolnshire magistrates hearing the matter and passing sentence:
STEVEN SHAUN TOMLINSON, 23, of Sheffield Street, Scunthorpe, pleaded guilty to two offences of making a false prescription for a scheduled drug. He was given a 12-month conditional discharge, ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £15 and costs of £85.

North Lincolnshire people have been making their views known about the possibility of a return to weekly bin collections.
The Government is keen for local councils to reflect the wishes of local people. And North Lincolnshire Council, which carries out the current fortnightly refuse collections, has responded by saying it will welcome residents' views.

The following offender was dealt with at the Court Centre in Laneham Street, Scunthorpe, with North Lincolnshire magistrates hearing the matter and passing sentence:
KELLIE ELIZABETH STANAGE, 23, of Everest Road, Scunthorpe, was found guilty of assault by beating. She was committed to prison for 12 weeks, suspended for 12 months. She was also ordered to pay compensation of £100, a victim surcharge of £80 and costs of £350.

A MAN has appeared in court in connection with an alleged domestic incident in Winterton which led to a police pursuit on the M180 and M18.

SCUNTHORPE United supporters have been warned against using pyrotechnics at football matches after an incident during the Iron's away game at Mansfield Town.
A smoke bomb was thrown from the section of the stadium housing the visiting supporters just after the first goal in United's 2-0 victory.

UPDATE: Mary Street crash - man suffers suspected spinal injuries
MARY Street in Scunthorpe was closed after a crash near the junction with Frances Street.
The road was temporarily closed between Frances Street and Laneham Street following the collision, shortly before 4pm today, which police say involved a red Rover and grey Toyota Prius.

Lincolnshire has 'advantages' for shale gas fracking, says Prime...
Prime Minister David Cameron visited Gainsborough today, after unveiling fresh incentives to encourage local councils to say yes on fracking for shale gas.
Under the changes, local councils will now get to keep 100 per cent of business rates from fracking sites.
Communities will also get £100,000 whenever a test well is fracked for shale gas, and one per cent of revenues from any site.
